At present the loco awaits testing when it is dark to
see whether any fire is thrown etc. The tests can't be
done in the dry weather as, until tested, it is not
allowed out when there is a risk of fire.
The intention is to test the engine as soon as
conditions permit, primarily weather but also available
crew.
The bottom end has had the gaskets replaced between the
cylinders and the steam chest and a slight modification
was made to the cylinder casting face to provide the
gasket with more support were it was thought wanting.
‘greedy boards’ are to be fitted shortly to increase the
fuel capacity
